User Support

The User Support role is held exclusively by employees of the 1st level support at the respective user organizations and the specialist departments of the service operator (RWTH Aachen University) involved in Coscine. The role is assigned manually by organizational administrators in the organization.

The tasks of this role are the following:

  • People with this role provide 1st level support to users of their own organization.
  • In the event of technical problems, communication with the service provider takes place via the support admins.
  • These people receive regular training from the service operator and are given access to all relevant materials.
  • In the future, it is planned to allow this group of people to view personal data within Coscine in order to ensure the technical support of the application and the advice and support of Coscine users with regard to RDM and good scientific practice.
  • The same rights as data managers are planned, but personal and not project-related (access to metadata of all projects of a person). The persons assigned this role are obliged to maintain confidentiality.
