In the case of external users, a distinction is made between people from outside the project who are logged into Coscine and those who are not. As the persons are not members of a project, this is a non-role. External users who are not logged in can only access the PID landing pages of projects or their resources and submit a request to the project owners there. After logging into Coscine, external users can search for metadata and only find metadata and PID from projects, resources or files that have been explicitly marked as publicly available by project owners.
