Deleting

Deleting folders is currently not possible due to manufacturer configurations.

Deleting files is done in three steps (see figure 1):

1. Select one file in the file explorer.
2. In the file metadata manager click on the drop-down arrow next to the "Download" button.
3. Select "Delete" option.

When you delete a resource, the files it contains are not automatically deleted as well. Therefore, the space occupied is not freed up after deleting a resource. You should therefore delete all files individually.

The fastest way to delete many files is to use an S3 client (for S3 resources). Another option is to delete folders using Python; you can find an example in the Coscine Community Features.
