User profile
In the user profile of Coscine, you can view and manage your personal information.
The user profile
You can access your user profile via the drop-down menu that opens when you click on Your Name and then choose User Profile. Figure 1 shows an overview of the profile.
Enter personal data
In the Personal Information section, you can enter your first and last name, your email address, and your discipline according to the DFG classification system, and change them if necessary. The Organization is automatically transferred to Coscine when you log in with your institution's single sign-on and cannot be changed.
Access token
In the Access Token section you can create access tokens, e.g. for using the Coscine API.
Change user preferences
In the User Preferences section, you can make two settings (see figure 2):
- Default language of Coscine: You can choose between
GermanandEnglish. You will also receive email notifications in the language you set here. - Notification management: You can switch the e-mail notifications for
Project Creation(also subprojects),Resource Creationand aRole Changewithin a project on or off.
Connected accounts
In the Connected Accounts section, you can see which accounts are already linked. Coscine allows different login methods (per person). Different accounts are therefore created. To maintain clarity and to always have access to all projects and data regardless of the login method, the login methods can be linked.
Delete account
In the Delete account section, you can completely delete your Coscine account. After successful deletion, you will receive a confirmation email. If you wish to use Coscine again in the future, you can re-register.
Info
Please note that this is only possible if you are no longer a member of any projects. Otherwise, you must first leave the relevant projects yourself.
Account Deletion due to Inactivity
Accounts belonging to users who have not been active in Coscine for one year and are not affiliated with any projects will be deleted by Coscine. A preliminary notification will be sent via email to the email address listed in the user profile, and a notification will be sent via email once the account has been deleted. After deletion, users can log in again using a login method of their choice and create a new account.
Info
Since Coscine allows different login methods (per person), different accounts are also created. As a result, you may unintentionally create projects and resources in different accounts. For this reason, we ask you to link your preferred login option in your user profile to the other login options. Linking is particularly important if you have used the previous DFN-AAI single sign-on: This option will be deactivated in the near future and is therefore only listed in the description text.
